Månskensbonden - Svindel & Lågtryck

The highest point of the Vasa region, Öjberget, reaches no higher than 50 meters above sea level. Nearby is one of Ostrobothnia’s greatest attractions, Söderfjärden, a meteorite crater that today is mostly a large flat field with farmlands. Trying to leave such a place, where the ice sheet has flattened everything that tried to rise towards the sky, it’s easy to get dizzy.

This is also what Månskensbonden experiences on his third album, "Svindel & lågtryck" (Septembernatt). After writing an album about growing up in the countryside and one about returning home, the trilogy is now complete. On the new album, he leaves his Ostrobothnia to be swallowed by the waves of the English Channel, wander in the shadows of Chicago’s skyscrapers, roam sleepless in Paris, and be whipped by rain in Gothenburg.

The album was recorded with Henrik Oja (Säkert!) in Umeå, featuring members from bands such as Honungsvägen and Vasas Flora och Fauna. A Kvarken album, simply put. On the album, Månskensbonden draws from the American storytelling tradition ("three chords and the truth"), but travels through Britain’s new wave era to finally land in contemporary Nordic indie pop.
