Heavy Load

Heavy Load is a Swedish heavy metal band, founded in 1976 by brothers Ragne and Styrbjörn Wahlquist. The band is considered one of the pioneers of Swedish heavy metal and is known for its epic and melodic style. Their lyrics often explore themes such as mythology, freedom, and adventure, earning them a special place in metal history. Among their most acclaimed albums are "Death or Glory" (1982) and "Stronger Than Evil" (1983), which are regarded as genre classics. Heavy Load reunited in 2017 after a long hiatus and has since performed again for their dedicated fans.

Founder Ragne Wahlquist passed away suddenly in 2025. R.I.P.
