SOFIA KARLSSON - EN SÅNG TILL SELMA
Sofia Karlsson has lived with music since childhood. The municipal music school and the church choir in Kärrtorp, south of Söder in Stockholm – a first love and perhaps a hint of what music could become for her. A personal space, but also a path through life. Listening to Sofia Karlsson as she plays and sings is like being granted access to that space and accompanying her on part of her journey.
As an interpreter of others’ lyrics, the multiple Grammy-winning folk and ballad queen Sofia Karlsson is considered one of the greatest in Sweden. Not least for her beloved interpretations of Dan Andersson’s poems, which have sold over 120,000 physical copies in Sweden.
In April 2025, Sofia Karlsson will finally release her seventh full-length album, En sång till Selma, where she once again takes on another literary giant – the national author Selma Lagerlöf’s vast treasure of texts.
